I've been extremely busy the last few days so now that I managed to find some time to sit down and actually post, here's what I've been working on. While Forgeworld was technically legal in 40K a few years ago (as Bean made abundantly clear to me a couple of weeks ago), it's only with sixth edition that such a fact is beginning to reach tournament organizers and the player base as a whole. And while most Forgeworld units are actually over-costed for their profile, I thought I would visit a more fluffy list that combines some of my favourite models, armies and units. I present an Eldar Corsair list!
1999 pts Eldar Corsairs w/ Dark Eldar Allies
1347 pts Eldar:
HQ - Corsair Void Dreamer - 95 pts

So I'll keep my thoughts on this rather brief. It's quite clearly a fluff-based list intended to represent a Corsair Pirate/Raider army with the combined forces of Eldar and Dark Eldar. Duke Sliscus leads this evil band of cut-throats with an entirely mobile, ground-based force of Corsair Venoms, Corsair Warp Hunters, a Venom, a Raider and a Wave Serpent while the skies are dominated by two Interceptors and a Razorwing. Like any Eldar list should be, it's incredibly fast and can respond immediately to most threats within a turn. It's important to note though that Sliscus' Low Orbit Raid rule will not apply to Corsair Venoms as, well, they're called Corsair Venoms; not Venoms. Not a big deal considering how much Deep Striking has been marginalized this edition.
The Void Dreamer should join the Fire Dragons to form a formidable unit that will obliterate just about anything it shoots at while Sliscus joins his Trueborn and face-melts tanks and heavily armed infantry. Your massed Shuriken Cannons/Splinter Cannons will shred light infantry so the key is to utilize the Warp Hunters, Fusion Guns from the Corsairs and Fliers to crack transports first. This really is the priority since cleaning up enemy infantry should not be an issue with the amount of fire-power you have on the table.
And of course, this army will look awesome. Most players I've met appreciate the Eldar aesthetic regardless of whether they play said armies or not, so any chance to combine the two together, get your own custom paint scheme and blast away with overwhelming fire-power and equal amounts arrogance is always welcome!
