Not quite this awesome.. but close.

As many of you know, I (like many) am a big fan of Forge World. I like their rules, I like how "fluffy" their stuff is, I love their models (the gf has expressed some concern...). Alas as we all know Forge Worl just doesn't have the resources to make all of the lovely little models for all of the entires they put in their books. Take, as an example, THE BEST SPACE MARINE IN THE GAME.

Yes I said it. THE BEST.

And who, dare I presume, is the best?

Lias Issodon.

LIAS FUCKING ISSODON.

 I purport that in 6th Edition, this guy is all kinds of amazing. Here's Why:



Lias Issodon (Raptors)

• -1 WS(5), +1 BS(6)

nothing really special here. He's a better shot than a fighter, which is of arguable merit. In a game that has brought shooting back to the forefront I'll happily take a boost to ranged combat. I have veteran Sergeants and company champions to take duels for him if need be.

• Power Armour
• Power Sword Weapon
• Bolt Pistol
• Frag and Krak Grenades.
• Malice (Omen Pattern Bolter - Assault 2/Heavy 4 Range 30")

 So.. Power Armour... meh. It is what it is. Bolt pistol... same. Grenades... ditto. Power weapon? Standard fare again (personally I'll be giving him a Sword, as an Axe, for this guy, may be a death sentence... play testing pending). which brings us to MALICE. A salvo 2/4 extended range bolter THAT CAN USE SPECIAL AMMO LIKE STERNGUARD.
WOW.
Yes, you loose the salvo 2/4 when using said special ammo... but you keep the range. so 30" kraken bolts for AP 4, 30" Dragonfire bolts to spray down models in cover (No cover saves), 30" Hellfire rounds (2+ Poisoned), or 30" VENGEANCE ROUNDS. Yessir, that is a 30 inch AP3 gets hot bolter on a guy that can take those hits (and ignore them via feel no pain if you have him with an apothecary/command squad).

• Combat Tactics: Stealth. 
• Infiltrate, Isolate, Destroy

Chapter Master effectively just means you can't have another Chapter Master in your army. Big deal. ATSKNF is standard fare for a Marine, IC means the standard as well. Cunning Strategist is a neat addition: Enemies suffer -1 to reserve rolls. Mucking about with an enemies Reserve Rolls can be a game changer, as any Guard player knows (via Officer of the Fleet), and we all know how nice it is when your own stuff arrives on time and the enemies do not. Good times. Combat Tactics: Stealth is great. With the game making cover saves less awesome across the board in 6th edition, this brings you a massive advantage across the board (literally).

And now, the reason why I believe Issodon is king of the hill. Infiltrate, Isolate, Destroy. What does this little 3 word power do for you? Not much... only THIS: Before the battle, one enemy non-IC model takes D6 AP- Wounds/Glancing Hits. 

Allow me to write that again, while that sinks in.

That, that right there, is, on average, your enemies favourite, nasty nasty bagginses vehicle or AIRCRAFT dead, DEAD, DEAD.

pew pew.. gotcha!

And all thanks to Hull Points. On average that is 3/4 HP dropped off whatever it is you want dead. Land Raider? Sure. Cestus assault ram? Yup! Heldrake? YOU ARE GODS DAMNED RIGHT.

BOOM!

No Rolling to hit. No Rolling to penetrate. Just HP right off the barrel head. Sad Sad Enemy player.

And how much for this Mighty Mighty Man? This Paladin of the Warp? This, most Fancy of Fellows?
